Again welcome to Miliblog !
On the right, 20 random images of photos from the website of vehicles, badges and all sorts of things pop up. If you hover your mouse over each of these it tells you what the photo is of. Click on one photo and it opens up to a large picture that fills your whole screen. Click on it again and it zooms into the photo for that extra detail and close up. Just ‘Escape’ to return to the main screen again.
However, with at least 2,500 photos in the collection we’ve set up different catagories to help you see the particular area that interests you the most. For example, you’ve just been watching the film ‘Ice Cold in Alex’ with John Mills and Sylvia Syms featuring that lovely Austin K2 Ambulance and you want to see if we have any on the website.
Simply click in the menu box on Photos, then choose Military Vehicles.
Then choose British, Preserved WW2 and then Ambulances & Fire Engines
Here you’ll see a selection of photos of the Austin K2′s.
Now click on the photo you’d like to see in more detail, which brings it onto your screen with a description. Click Full Size and it becomes bigger. Click once more and it goes into more detail ! Considering most of these were scanned in from twenty year old photos, I still am amazed at the detail my scanner has picked up !
To get back, just use the back button or Escape.
Similarly, you can explore all the various sub-galleries from modern British tanks to WW2 American Jeeps
